This episode takes a rather broad turn away from what had become a fairly conventional series, but it does veer very near to “Black Mirror” territory. The fact that Charlie’s real talent appears to be magical observational abilities, even though the show is predicated on her having an incredible capacity to detect falsehoods, still bothers me. In this case, she discovers the truth by noticing clues more in line with what Sherlock Holmes or the FBI would observe and piece together, rather than by catching someone in a lie.
