Teonna and Hank bring things to a head. Teonna will be disguised by Hank by dressing as a boy and going by the name Joe. As a result, Teonna will have to have everything she brought from the school burned, which she naturally has no problem with. Hank hesitates when she offers him a bible, though. He claims that while he was incarcerated, the bible was read to him. Instead of burning it because he fears the damage it would create and thinks the Christian God is a vindictive one, Teonna buries it.
