R.I.P.D.2 Rise of the damned is about a policeman named Roy Pulsipher. He was killed during a shootout with a group of outlaws. He returns to Earth as a member of the Rest in Peace Department (R.I.P.D.), which keeps an eye on the souls of the deceased who are still in mortal bodies. However, he must postpone his quest for vengeance because a portal to hell has been opened, endangering not only the residents of Red Creek but all of humanity. As cowboys and monsters clash and zombie madness causes apocalyptic chaos, Roy and his partner Jeanne, a mysterious swordswoman, must now decide the fate of the living and the dead.
